Resurgo's Spear Programme
W12 supports the fantastic work Resurgo do and work very closely with them and their Spear Programme initiative. This equips 16-24-year-olds to overcome the challenges they face and succeed in long-term employment.
The Spear Programme supports young people facing the most challenging barriers to work, including a criminal record, educational failure, and poor mental health.
The journey to transforming employment
The Spear Programme begins with six weeks of coaching run by friendly and experienced coaches, who lead a group of young people through a series of work-readiness topics, with a strong emphasis on attitudinal and soft skills coaching alongside practical requirements.
These six weeks are followed by twelve months of personalised support, where each young person remains in touch with their coach as they progress through their career journey. They have access to live job vacancies and weekly application workshops to provide community and support.
Our Charities
Key4Life
Key4Life's mission is to reduce youth re-offending through delivering an innovative rehabilitation programme to those in prison and those at risk of going to prison. We also work with under 18s tackling anti-social behaviour and knife crime.
Ultimately Key4Life aims to saves lives and help break the cycle of crime. Offending already costs the economy £18 billion annually and Key4Life helps reduce offending with astonishing results. Only 14% of participants have re-offended, compared to the national rate of 64% one-year post release. And a Key4Life participant is four times more likely to be employed a year post-release.
